Hi, James!
I'm playing the "Giggle" CD. I'm overwhelmed.
I've just been given a stack of CDs from friends I play with. Some fairly big time folks. Your CD is by far the best of the lot so far.
The songs are great. The production is great. Moreover, what I've noticed especially, in comparison to these other CDs (which will remain nameless) the mix is really great. The vocals are front and center and clear as a bell, like they should be.
I look forward to playing with you Saturday in the park!

Hi James! We saw you at a corporate event in Napa Valley in combination with the Waves to Wine bike race maybe 3 years ago. Our now 4 year old is really enjoying your music and I thought I'd share it with some of his friends so wanted to buy some more CDs. However, I clicked on your buy-link and got through to the website but then it didn't allow me to purchase. Something wrong. I'll try again, but thought perhaps you have a more "direct" channel..?

Here's what I'm up to... Right now I'm in charge of making a music-themed "birthday-party-in-a-basket" for Cassidy's preschool auction coming up 5/30/09 and was hoping to include a gift certificate to use toward having "the wonderful James K" play at a child's birthday party.
I've already put in two of my own (extra copies) of your cds (that I had leftover from when you played Cassidy's 4th B-day here in Novato in our backyard in October 2007.)
We can discuss the amount when you email me. I was thinking of buying a $50 or $75 gift certificate from you --enough so that whoever "wins" the basket at the silent auction will be able to afford the remainder of what it would cost to have you play at a party for about 45 minutes or so. (Can't recall your fee...)
I'm not even sure you do gift certificates --if you have any other ideas --I'm open to hearing them!! Let me know what you think!
By the way, I'm the mom who recommended having you play at the Novato Mothers Club PJ Party a while back. Just wanted to tell you that you were a HUGE hit --and they want you back next year.

Hi James-
You play very regularly at my sons' school, Meadow Elelmentary. My eldest son loved you and now my first grader has a blast with you. My first grader just got his first guitar for Christmas and is an eager learner / player. My question to you is, do you teach guitar lessons to children? I thought since you are so patient and good with children and they seem to respond positively to you that you would be great at this. Please contact me and let me know if this is something that you do or would be interested in doing and what you would charge. I understand that you are already so busy entertaining and teaching our children the love of music, but if you do have any extra time to do this I would really be interested in discussing this with you. Hi James--I just wanted to let you know that our 7 month old son LOVES Good Morning Sun Goodnight Moon. He is a very happy little boy, but when he gets upset we can play or sing the songs from the album and he just lights up! Thanks for great music!

I love your music! So far, Good Morning Sun Goodnight Moon is the only CD my son (Nils, 3 mo.) will listen to. The first day I played it we probably listened to it 4 times in a row! Congratulations on identifying and pursuing your talents, I'm sure parents everywhere are glad you did!

My four year old daughter Ava goes to Robin's Nest preschool and is a big fan of your performances there. We have recently acquired a ukelele and she seems genuinely interested in learning how to play... she is inspired by your guitar playing. It was her idea to see if you give lessons, so I thought I would check on the wild chance that you do. Please let me know know if so, or if you know of anyone in Marin that gives ukelele lessons to young children that would be great.

I've never done this before, but I would like to invite you to sing in my daughter's classroom. I know you busy and you can't just go around to all these classrooms but let me tell you that at my daughter's school, your songs are played on a daily basis. She attends the Valley Montessori School in Livermore, CA. When my daughter comes home after school, she's not only singing your songs but acting them out. This is a very innovative school. They don't just play the music to hear songs, they play your songs for the love of music. Their faces light up when your music comes on and I know that the children would be so thrilled and so excited that well it would definately be one of the most memorable moments they would have at school. Just consider it if you would. Unfortunately, they are too young for a field trip to see you and it is a full day class so they would not be able to attend your sing-a-longs at Pottery Barn. I'm just a parent trying to help a class of children meet one of their favorite songwriter/singers.

You performed for our Iron Horse Mothers Club two weeks ago and you were terrific! The kids really responded to your songs! My eldest son, Andrew, is now performing the finger plays along with the music on your CD and sharing the magic with his baby brother. I bought "Good Morning Sun" and LOVE all of the songs - I find myself singing along to all of them. If I have to pick just one favorite, which is hard to do, I really enjoy "Mushrooms and Asparagus", while my son keeps replaying "ChickaMoo".

My son & I first saw you perform in WC about a year ago (my son is almost 3 now)....we bought "Good Morning Sun" and it is a STAPLE in our car...whether going 2 miles to the store or on long road trips, it is a MUST for my son. He's learned the days of the week, his ABC's & so many fun, silly things from you! In fact, my son sings everything....even simple requests like, "Can I please have pasta for dinner?!" REALLY, I'm serious! Thank you for bringing joy into my child's life (and my husband & I know every song by heart!). :-)

Our daughter, who is 2 1/2, absolutely loves James K! We saw you perform at the Pottery Barn and purchased a CD, and our daughter has been hooked ever since. She has learned the months of the year and days of the week by listening to your "Earth Goes Round and Round" song and is now enjoying the "Giggle" CD...she calls it the "new James K" CD because it is new to her. James K is a life saver! Our son Riley has been giving us the run around at bedtime---it's been taking an hour to get him to settle down and fall asleep. As we usually don't battle with him---it's been frustrating for all of us. Last night Daddy we let him listen to James K at bedtime! Not only did he stay in bed, he fell asleep singing to himself in about 20 minutes. You're a Conklin family hero!!!!
